Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

ARTICLE WRITING GUIDELINES

Requirements and Scope

Articles submitted for publication in Jurnal Linguistik Terapan (JLT) must not have been previously published in any form in other scientific journals or periodicals. JLT accepts articles on language teaching, language learning, language acquisition, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, translation, discourse analysis, pragmatics, bilingualism, contrastive linguistics, multilingualism, multilingual communication, lexicography, computational linguistics, computer-assisted communication, forensic linguistics, and related fields, as well as book reviews in these areas.

Language

Manuscripts published in this journal may be written in proper and correct Indonesian, Malay, or English. The use of terminology should follow standard linguistic rules.

Manuscript Typing

Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word, on A4 paper size, 1.5 line spacing, with Calibri font size 11. The page layout should be portrait orientation with margins of 2.5 cm on the left, right, top, and bottom. The length of the manuscript should be between 6–20 pages, including figures and tables. Manuscripts must be submitted in soft copy, anonymously (without the author’s name), via the JLT website. An electronic file of the cover page containing the complete names of all authors and the abstract should also be uploaded to the website as “other” text.

Manuscript Content and Presentation Structure

  1. Articles should be written in essay style, using subheadings for each section, except for the background or introduction section.

  2. Research articles should include:
    (a) Title;
    (b) Full name(s) of the author(s) (without academic titles) and institutional affiliation(s);
    (c) Abstract (maximum 100 words);
    (d) Keywords;
    (e) Introduction (without heading, including research objectives);
    (f) Literature review;
    (g) Research method;
    (h) Findings;
    (i) Discussion;
    (j) Conclusion and Suggestions;
    (k) References; and
    (l) Appendices, if any.

  3. Non-research articles should include:
    (a) Title;
    (b) Full name(s) of the author(s) (without academic titles) and institutional affiliation(s);
    (c) Abstract (maximum 75 words);
    (d) Keywords;
    (e) Introduction (without heading);
    (f) Main Discussion;
    (g) References.

  4. References should be presented alphabetically and chronologically, in the order of author’s name, year, book title, city of publication, and publisher’s name (with the title in italics).

Title and Author’s Name

The title should be a phrase in the form of a short sentence that reflects the content of the research or conceptual/review article. If there is more than one author, the sequence should start with the main author, in accordance with the authorship ethics code.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should have clear, concise titles. Each table and figure should be numbered sequentially (1, 2, 3, … etc.). Table numbers and titles should be placed above the table, while figure numbers and titles should be placed below the figure. If the figure is a photograph, the quality must be good. For ease of editing, it is recommended that figures be “grouped.”

References

The reference list should only include sources cited in the text. References should be listed alphabetically by the author’s name. The order of information should be: last name, first name, year, title (in italics), edition, city: publisher. References should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition style.

ATURAN TATA TULIS ARTIKEL

Syarat dan Ruang Lingkup

Artikel yang diusulkan untuk diterbitkan di Jurnal Linguistik Terapan (JLT) belum pemah dipublikasikan secara tertulis pada jurnal atau majalah ilmiah mana pun. JLT menerima artikel tentang pengajaran bahasa, pembelajaran bahasa, pemerolehan bahasa, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, penerjemahan, analisis wacana, pragmatik, bilingualisme, linguistik kontrastif, multilingualisme, komunikasi multilingual, leksikografi, linguistik komputasional, komunikasi berbantuan komputer, linguistik forensik, dan lain-lain, serta dan tinjauan buku dalam bidang-bidang tersebut.

Bahasa

Naskah yang dimuat dalam jumal ilmiah ini menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu atau Bahasa Inggris yang baik dan benar. Penggunaan istilah-istilah mengacu pada kaidah yang benar.

Pengetikan Naskah

Naskah diketik menggunakan perangkat lunak pengolah kata Microsoft Word dengan ukuran kertas A4 dengan jarak 1,5 spasi dengan huruf Calibri ukuran 11. Tata letak halaman tegak (portrait) dengan jarak sembir (margin) kiri 2,5 cm; kanan, atas dan bawah 2,5 cm. Panjang naskah antara 6-20 halaman termasuk gambar dan tabel. Naskah dikirim dalam bentuk softcopy, anonim (tanpa nama penulis), melalui website JLT. Berkas elektronik (file) halaman depan lengkap dengan nama semua penulis dan abstrak juga diunggah ke situs web sebagai teks "other".

  

Isi Naskah dan Sistematika Penyajian

(1) Artikel ditulis dengan gaya esai, menggunakan sub-judul untuk masing-masing bagian, kecuali bagian latar belakang atau pendahuluan.

(2) Artikel hasil penelitian meliputi: (a) Judul; (b) Nama lengkap penulis (tanpa gelar) dan lembaga atau afiliasinya; (c) Abstrak (maks. 100 kata); (d) Kata kunci; (e) Pendahuluan (tanpa judul, termasuk tujuan penelitian) (f) kajian kepustakaan; (f) metode penelitian, (g) Temuan; (h) pembahasan, (i) Kesimpulan dan Saran; (j) Referensi; dan (k) Lampiran, jika ada.

(3) Artikel bukan hasil penelitian meliputi: (a) Judul; (b) Nama lengkap penulis (tanpa gelar) dan lembaga atau afiliasinya; (c) Abstrak (maks. 75 kata); (d) Kata kunci; (e) Pendahuluan (tanpa judul); (f) Isi Bahasan; (g) Referensi.

(4) Referensi disajikan secara alfabetis dan kronologis, dengan urutan Nama, tahun, judul buku, kota penerbit, nama penerbit (Judul dicetak miring).

Judul dan Nama Pengarang

Judul harus berupa ungkapan dalam bentuk kalimat pendek yang mencerminkan isi penelitian atau artikel konseptual/kajian. Jika penulis lebih dan seorang, hendaknya diurutkan dimulai dengan penulis utama/sesuai dengan kode etik penulisan.

Tabel dan Gambar

Tabel dan gambar diberi judul singkat dan jelas. Setiap tabel dan gambar diberi nomor urut (1,2,3,…dst). Nomor dan judul tabel berada di atas, sedangkan untuk gambar berada di bawah. Bila gambar berupa foto, maka kualitas foto harus baik. Agar memudahkan proses editing, dianjurkan gambar di”group”.

Daftar Referensi

Daftar Referensi yang ditampilkan hanya yang dikutip saja. Penulisan daftar rujukan disusun menurut abjad nama penulis. Urutan penulisan sebagai berikut; Nama belakang, nama depan, Tahun, Judul (dicetak miring), Edisi, Kota: Penerbit. Penulisan daftar rujukan menggunaka gaya APA (APA style) versi 7.
